Bird Book

plaster, wood watercolour, wax, 12"x18"x4"

Four carved birds are playfully propped against a cast plaster book. The whiteness of the book offers possibility, like a blank page before writing. The birds, on the other hand, make reference to the finite natural world, now becoming increasingly damaged.

The other images below respond to similar themes.
