Straw Men

‘Bridge’
15’ span, mixed media with straw.

The sculpture ‘Bridge’ couples themes of caryatids and effigies. As caryatids the two figures structurally support one another through the metaphor of bridged embrace. As ‘Folk’ effigies they are made with what’s at hand, a bricolage of straw, found objects and clothes.
